At Bridge City Braces, we are passionate about helping teenagers achieve their dream smiles that inspire confidence while improving their health. Teenagers need a treatment that is flexible to their busy schedule while still being efficient. Invisalign is the perfect appliance for any teen who wants a corrective treatment that helps them get the smile they’ve always wanted with a more discreet appearance than braces.

How Often Do I Have To Wear My Aligners?

There is always a slight adjustment period after you get your first set of aligners, but they are so comfortable that you won’t even notice your Invisalign after a while. This comfort is essential because you need to wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day for the treatment to be effective and time-friendly. By wearing your Invisalign for most of the day, you gradually ensure that your teeth benefit from consistent pressure to shift them into the right place. While this may sound like a lot of time out of your day, it still gives you plenty of time to take your aligners out to eat, drink, play sports, and more.

How Long Does Invisalign Take?

Our patients have unique orthodontic needs and expectations, so every timeline looks a little different. If you have more extensive issues that need correcting, you may spend longer in Invisalign. While the length varies from patient to patient, most people can complete Invisalign treatment within a year or two of starting.

How Does Invisalign Teen Work?

Invisalign Teen consists of a series of clear aligners adjusted over time to shift your teen’s teeth into place for the smile of a lifetime. These aligners are printed to perfectly fit their teeth based on a 3D image we will take at the beginning of treatment. Invisalign is virtually invisible while providing consistently dazzling results, so your teen can enjoy the aesthetics of their natural smile throughout the entire process. After they receive their first set, they will get new clear aligners every two weeks until the end of treatment.

If you are concerned that your teen may not wear their aligners enough, Invisalign has a helpful feature called a compliance indicator. This indicator is a small symbol printed near the back of aligners. The symbol is designed to fade as the patient consistently wears their aligners, so if the indicator is still present by the end of two weeks, this may be a sign your teen isn’t wearing their Invisalign enough. Patients must keep their Invisalign in for at least 20-22 hours to have consistent pressure on their teeth to guide them into the right position. If they consistently leave their aligners out, their teeth may shift back to their original places, and treatment could be lengthened.

What Happens If My Teen Loses An Aligner?

We know that teens are always running to school, practice, friends’ houses, etc. In this daily shuffle, an aligner may get misplaced or accidentally thrown away. There’s no need to worry if this happens because we’ve seen it all before and can help you get a new set of aligners and protect your treatment. The most important thing to remember when you lose an aligner is that you need to call our office right away so we can make a decision that follows your treatment plan. If you are close to a new set of adjusted aligners, we may decide to go ahead and give you the next pair. As long as you let us know, we can help you protect your progress towards a straighter smile.

How Much Is Invisalign For Teens?

The cost of Invisalign varies from patient to patient, depending on their unique orthodontic needs and goals. While each of our treatment plans is completely customized, we don’t want any of our patients to feel as if the smile of their dreams is out of reach. This is why we’ve created flexible financing plans customized to suit your budget. Additionally, we work with most insurance providers to ensure as much of your treatment is covered as possible.
